A thread on Discord cannot be deleted in the same way that individual messages can. With Discord, threads are a persistent way to arrange and organize talks within of a channel. If you no longer want a topic to be actively shown, you can "archive" it to make it invisible. It can be done as follows:
1. Desktop App:
- Find the thread you want to archive in the channel list.
- Hover over the thread's name to reveal a set of icons.
- Click on the three dots (ellipsis) icon (⋯) that appears to the right of the thread's name.
- Select "Archive" from the dropdown menu.
2. Mobile App:
- Find the thread you want to archive in the channel list.
- Swipe left on the thread's name to reveal a set of options.
- Tap the "Archive" option.
Archiving a thread will move it to the "Archived Threads" section within the channel, making it less prominent and reducing clutter. However, archived threads can still be accessed and unarchived if needed. To unarchive a thread:
1. Desktop App:
- Scroll to the bottom of the channel list to find the "Archived Threads" section.
- Find the thread you want to unarchive, hover over its name, click the three dots icon (⋯), and select "Unarchive."
2. Mobile App:
- Scroll to the bottom of the channel list to find the "Archived Threads" section.
- Find the thread you want to unarchive, swipe left on its name, and tap the "Unarchive" option.
